About Us
A Clear Call to Action. This citizen-initiated recall petition gives Morinville – St. Albert a clear, democratic voice to defend this right.
Why this petition?
Why this petition? Many people in Morinville – St. Albert are feeling unheard. The recall effort is not about partisanship or ideology, it’s about ensuring our community has an MLA who is accessible, accountable, and genuinely committed to representing the
people who live here.
Over the past year, residents have raised serious concerns about Minister Dale Nally’s approach to governance and constituent engagement. Too often, calls and emails go unanswered. Constituents who reach out for help or clarity are left waiting, which erodes trust and leaves people feeling unrepresented. Accessibility isn’t optional, it’s a core responsibility of an elected official.
We’ve also watched major decisions move quickly through the Legislature with limited consultation, including repeated support for using the Notwithstanding Clause. This tool overrides Charter right, even if temporarily, and its use should be a last resort, approached with caution and broad public discussion. Instead, it has become a go-to mechanism for the government, and Minister Nally has voted in favour of it multiple times. Many Albertans, including people right here in our riding, have voiced deep concern about this direction.
Beyond legislation, questions have been raised about judgment and priorities. The mixing of personal travel with publicly funded trips, long delays in responding to constituents, and initiatives like the proposed license-plate redesign campaign suggest a disconnect from the practical needs of families, seniors, and small businesses in our area. At a time when people are looking for leadership on affordability, education, and healthcare, symbolic projects and unclear spending choices feel out of touch.
This recall effort is rooted in a simple idea: Morinville – St. Albert deserves better representation. We deserve an MLA who listens, who responds, who uses public resources responsibly, and who approaches major decisions with transparency and respect for democratic principles.
This isn’t about political labels. It’s about strengthening our community and ensuring our voice is genuinely heard at the Legislature. Many of us believe it’s time for a change, not out of anger, but out of a shared hope for a better, more accountable future for Alberta.
About
Many residents in Morinville – St. Albert feel that their voices are no longer being heard. The recall effort reflects growing concerns about accessibility, accountability, and major decisions being pushed through without meaningful public input.
As stated in the recall application:
“Personally, I do not believe that Dale Nally is currently listening to the voices of his constituents while representing us in government… During the days leading up to the passing of Bill 2 there was widespread opposition to use the notwithstanding clause from Albertans across the province, which does not appear to have been appropriately considered by UCP MLAs, including Dale Nally.”
—Joshua Eberhart
These concerns go beyond a single bill. Constituents have faced months-long delays when seeking answers from the MLA’s office. Minister Nally has supported multiple uses of the Notwithstanding Clause—measures that override Charter rights and move quickly with minimal consultation. Questions about judgment and priorities have also grown, from blending personal travel with publicly funded trips to promoting initiatives that feel disconnected from the real needs of families and local businesses.
This recall is not about political sides. It’s about ensuring Morinville – St. Albert has representation that listens, responds, and approaches major decisions with transparency and respect for the people who live here. Our community deserves an MLA who reflects our values and protects the democratic principles that make Alberta strong.
